Superstar batsman Virat Kohli, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, has become the first Indian to score 12,000 runs. Kohli reached this milestone in the opening match of the 17th IPL.

It was during this match that Virat Kohli became the first Indian to reach the milestone of 12,000 runs. He achieved this milestone by taking a single off Ravindra Jadeja in the seventh over. In T20 cricket, Kohli has achieved the milestone of 12,000 runs during 377 matches and 360 innings since 2007.
